Manage Settings / Profile Migration / Resetting Settings

To manage your settings file the Settings tab provides an 'Expander Menu' on the right hand side of the screen (click to expand):

settingsfilemanagement.zoom50

Here you can:

Open Folder: Open the folder that contains the settings file in use
Export: Copy settings to another location
Import: Load settings to be used with this setup
Reset Default: All values are reset to default values
Import Old Version Settings: Looks for other installations of AllSkEye and allows the user to import them directly
Create an 'Alternative' setup of AllSkEye: Allows the use of AllSkEye with two or more cameras. Please see here for details.

Settings Folder

All AllSkEye related settings are stored within one settings file:AllSkEyeSettings.xaml

This file is located in the following folder (the AppData folder is a hidden folder by default and you will need to enable 'Hidden Items' in the file explorer to see it):

C:\Users\[Your Windows User Name]\AppData\Local\AllSkEye_[Version Number]_[x32 or x63]

Please note that if you have multiple versions of AllSkEye installed side by side then each version will have its own settings file folder.

Using Multiple Setups with Same Version

It is possible to control two or more camera setups with the same installation on the same computer. Settings for each setup will be contained in separate settings files but within the same folder. Please see here for details.

Error / FTP Log

The application will also save the following files to the same location:

Error Log -> Logs all application errors
FTP Transfer Log -> logs ftp transfer details (only active if this has been enabled in AllSkEye ftp settings)

Backup

The AllSkEye application includes a backup mechanism which will store your current settings in a backup file alongside the actual settings file. Should the settings file become corrupt you can rename this file to restore your latest working settings. The application will also offer to restore this backup file if it finds the primary file corrupt or missing.

Location (same as settings file):

C:\Users\[Your Windows User Name]\AppData\Local\AllSkEye_[Version Number]_[x32 or x63]
