New Preview Version 0.9.18.3
I have just released a new preview version 0.9.18.3 which is available for download now. No major changes but finally a bit of a breakthrough for Altair cameras! Hopefully all models should now work via the native driver, feedback very much appreciated! The changes are:
- Better support for Altair cameras. The Altair camera SDK was updated and ‘Pull Mode’ implemented to reduce exposure errors.
- Add option to acquisition settings to use exposure start time as the image date time (for file name, FITS header, overlay date time). Up to now image date/time was taken as the time the image arrived at the application (after download). As this is sometimes variable this new option will use the time the exposure is started (from within the app) to allow more accurate timings to be taken for meteor observations. This needs to be enabled.
- Fix bug in ASI ZWO camera image binning.
ALTAIR camera user also please note that if you still have issues with exposure errors please have a look at the FAQ section on the Altair camera page and expand the ‘Interrupted frames subs download during imaging session?’ section: https://www.altairastro.help/faqs/
On my Dell computer I had to follow both instructions (switch off USB power saving features as well as disable C States in the BIOS) to make my Altair camera work!
Any feedback is much appreciated! Please post any comments here: http://allskeye.onpressidium.com/community/preview-releases/allskeye-preview-0-9-18-3-feedback/
